Dua'a & Aamal for Nawroz 20 March 2012

(1) Have a Ghusl

(2) Put on new or clean clothes and apply perfume.

(3) Keep fast.

(4) Pray a 4 Rak-a't salaat, after the Z'uhr and A'sr prayers, as under:

-In the first Rak-a't after the recitation of Soorah Al Faatih'ah, recte Soorah Al Qadr 10 times.

-In the second Rak-a't, after the recitation of Soorah Al Faatih'ah, recite Soorah Al Kaafiroon 10 times.

-In the third Rak-a't, after the recitation of Soorah Al-Faatih'ah, recite Soorah Al Ikhlaas 10 times.

-In the fourth Rak-a't, after the recitation of Soorah Al Faatih'ah, recite Soorah Al Falaq 10 times, and Soorah Al Naas 10 times.

After the Salaam go into Sajdah and recite the following dua’a:

O Allah send Thy “the best” blessings on Muhammad and on his children, the chosen successors, and on all Thy Prophets and Messengers; also glorify them with Thy “the best” commendations; and in addition sanctify their bodies and souls. O Allah multiply Thy blessings send on Muhammad and on the children of Muhammad, and give us more and more in this day, which has been rendered superior, chosen for bestowing bounties, distinguished, and whose superabundant generosity is deemed very important. O Allah multiply Thy blessings for me in the bounties Thou bestows on me, through it, till I do not have to flatter any one else other than Thee, and add more and more to my means of livelihood, O the Owner of might and majesty! O Allah let it not be that what has been escaping me may also render Thy support and protection unavailable, and let it not be that which I have lost may also make me miss sorely Thy help, so that I may not take pains in the matter of that which I do not need, O Owner of might and majesty.

ALLAHUMMA S’ALLI A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALI MUH’AMMADINIL AWS’IYAAA-IL MARZ”IYEEN WA A’LAA JAMEE-I’AMBIYAAA-IKA WA RUSULIKA BI-AFZ”ALI S’ALAWAATIKA WA BAARIK A’LAYHIM BI-AFZ”ALI BARAKAATIKA WA S’ALLI A’LAA ARWAAH’IHIM WA AJSAADIHIM ALLAHUMMA BAARIK A’LAA MUH’AMMADIN WA AALI MUH’AMMAD WA BAARIK LANAA FEE YAWMINAA HAAD’ALLAD’EE FAZ”Z”ALTAHU WA SHARRAFTAHU WA A’Z’Z’AMTA KHAT’ARAHU ALLAAHUMMA BAARIK LEE FEEMAA AN-A’MTA BIHI A’LAYYA H’ATTAA LAA ASHKURA AH’ADAN GHAYRAKA WA WASSIA’-A’LAYYA FEE RIZQEE YAA D’AL JALAALI WAL IKRAAM ALLAAHUMMA MAA GHAABA A’NNEE FALAA YAGHEEBANNA A’NNEE A’WNUKA WA H’IFZ’UKA WA MAA FAQADTU MIN SHAY-IN FALAA TUFQIDNEE A’WNAKA A’LAYHI H’ATTAA LAA ATAKALLAFA MAA LAA AH’TAAJU ILAYHI YAA D’AL-JALAALI WAL IKRAM

At the time of sunrise recite the following du-a’as on the day of Nawruz

O Allah, the new year has begun. You are the eternal master. I ask You to make available to me its good and the benefits which are in it. I seek refuge with You from its evil and the disadvantages which are in it. I request You to let me procure the provisions I need and discharge the activities I take up in this year.

(i) ALLAAHUMMAA HAAD’IHEE SANATUN JADEEDATUN WA ANTA MALIKUN QADEEM AS-ALUKA KHAYRAHAA WA KHAYRA MAA FEEHAA WA A-O’OD’U BIKA SHARRAHAA WA SHARRA MAA FEEHAA WASTAKFEEKA MA-UNATAHAA WA SHUGHLAHAA YAA D’ALJALAALI WAL IKRAAM

O Allah, I take refuge with the light of Your holiness, greatness of Your purity, and abundance of Your glory, from every misfortune and every injury, and from the behavior of nights and days, jinn and human beings, save the way which leads to goodness, O Beneficent, O merciful. O Allah, You are my help, so from You I seek help; Your are my refuge, so I seek refuge with You; You are my asylum so I seek Your protection. O He who subdues all the strong and the powerful, and bends the necks of all the tyrants, I take refuge with the majesty of Your pre-eminence from the disgrace Your afflict, from the withdrawal of Your protection, from the forgetfulness of Your remembrance and from shrinking from giving thanks to You. I am under Your protection day and night, in my sleep and rest, whether in home or in journey. Your remembrance is my daily routine, Your praise is my stalk. There is no god save You. Keeping me free from vice on account of Your name, making me revere the grace and beauty of Your honor, protect me from the disgrace You afflict, from Your calamitous chastisement, from the degradation of Your punishment, take me under Your protection and preservation, and give me good in abundance from Your mercy, O the most merciful.

(ii) ALLAHUMA INNEE A-O’ODU BINOORI QUDSIKA WA A’Z’MATI T’AHAARATIKA WA BARAKATI JALAALIKA MIN KULLI AAFATIN WA A’AHATIN WA MIN T’AWAARIQIL LAYLI WAN NAHAARI WAL JINNI WAL INSI ILLAA T’AARIQIN YAT’RUQA BIKHAYRIN YAA RAH’MAANU YAA RAH’EEM ALLAHUMMA ANTA GHIYAATHEE FABIKA AGHOOTHU WA ANTA A’YAAD’EE FABIKA A-O’OD’U WA ANTA MALAAD’EE FABIKA ALOOD’U YAA MAN JALLAT LAHUL JABAABIRATU WA KHAZ”A-A’T LAHOO A’-NAAQUL FARAA-I’NATU WA A-O’OD’U BIJALAALI WAJHIKA MIN KHIZYIKA WA MIN KASHFI SITRIKA WA MIN NISYAANI D’IKRIKA WA TAQS’EERIN MIN SHUKRIKA ANAA FEE H’IRZIKA LAYLEE WA NAHAARI WA NAWMEE WA QARAAREE WA WAT’ANEE WA ASFAAREE D’IKRUKA SHI-A’AREE WA THANAA-UKA DISAAREE LAA ILAHAA ILLAA ANTA TANZEEHAN LI ISMIKA WA TAKREEMANLI S’UBH’AATI WAJHIKA AJEENEE MIN KHIZYIKA WA MIN SOO-I I’QAABIKA WAQINEE MIN SAYYI-AATI A’DAABIKA WA ADKHILNEE FEE H’IFZ’IKA WA I’NAAYATIKA WA U’D A’LAYYA BIKHAYRIN MINKA BIRAH’MATIKA YAA ARH’AMAR RAAH’IMEEN

(iii) Recite the following thrice on water; drink some and sprinkle some in the house.

Allah is my Lord My Lord is one. My Lord is ever living, self-subsisting. My Lord is He who gives life and makes dead. My Lord is single, almighty. Sufficient is my Lord. O Allah, we take refuge with You from abuse, plague, epidemic, misfortune, accidental death, specified calamity, rejoicing of enemies, and from the anticipated evil. O our Lord, turn away the certain torment from us. Verily we are those who know for certain. Allah is sufficient for us. Most excellent is He who protects us, the most excellent Lord, and the most excellent helper. Allah is the best guardian; and He is the most merciful.

RABBIYALLAAHU RABBIYAL WAAH’IDU RABBIYAL H’AYYUL QAYYOOM RABIYYAL LAD’EE YUH’EE WA YUMEETU RABBIYAL WAAH’IDUL QAHHAAR H’ASBUNAA RABBUNAA H’ASBEE RABBE ALLAAHUMA INNAA NA-O’OD’U BIKA MINAT’ T’A-NI WAT’ T’AA-O’ONI WAL WABAA-I WAL BALAA-I WA MAWTI FUJAATIN WA SOO-IL QAZ”AA-I WA SHIMAATATIL A’_DAA-I WA MIN SHARRI MAA SABAQA RABBANAS-RIF A’NNAL A’D’AABI INNAA MOOQINOONA WA H’ASBUNALLAAHU WA NI’-MAL WAKEEL NI’-MAL MAWLAA WA NI’-MAN NAS’EER FALLAAHU KHAYRUN H’AAFIZ’AN WA HUWA ARH’AMUR RAAH’IMEEN WA S’ALLALLAAHU A’LAA KHAYRI KHALQIHEE MUH’AMMADIN WA AALIHEE I’TRATIHIT’ T’AYYIBEENAT’ T’AAHIREEN BIRAH’MATIKA YAA ARH’AMAR RAAH’IMEEN

Blessings of Allah be on the best of all His creation, Muhammad and on his pious and purified children, by Your mercy O the most merciful.

(iv) Recite the following dus’a 365 times after midday:

O He who opens up doors (opportunities), O the causer of causes, O the converter of hearts and vision, O He who directs nights and days, O He who changes stratagem and circumstances, change our situation into the best condition. O mighty, O independent, O helper of the helpless, O He who shows the way to those who are wandering, O He who takes pity on the destitute, I rely on Your and entrust my affairs to You, O Lord and “there is no power nor strength save in Allah, the highest high.”

YAA MUFATTIH’AL ABWAABI YAA MUSABBIBAL ASBAABI YAA MUQALLIBAL QULOOBI WAL ABS’AARI YAA MUDABBIRAL LAYLI WAN NAHAARI YAA MUH’AWWILAL H’AWLI WAL AH’WAALI H’AWWIL H’AALANAA ILAA AH’SANIL H’AALI YAA A’ZEEZU YAA GHANIYYU YAA GHIYAATHAL MKUSTAGHEETHEENA YAA DALEELAL MUTAH’AYYIREENA YAA RAAH’IMAL MASAAKEENA TAWAKKALTU A’LAYKA WA FAWWAZ”TU AMREE ILAYKA YAA RABBI WA LAA H’AWLA WA LAA QUWWATA ILLAA BILLAAHIL A’LIYYIL A’ZEEM

(v) Recite 37 times or more:

O Generous Allah, make this year auspicious fro us and let us be sound and safe in it from beginning to end, protect us from the evil of the oppressors, for the sake of “protection against every rebellious Shaytan,” and for the sake of “peace” shall be the greeting from the Lord, the merciful” and for the sake of “Allah s the best of guardians; and He is the most merciful of the merciful;” and for the sake of Muhammad, blessings of Allah be on him and on the infallible and rightly guided Imams.

YAA KAREEMU ALLAAHUMMA BAARIK LANAA HAAD’IHIS SANATI WA BAALILGHNAA MIN AWWALI HAAD’IHIS SANATI ILAA AAKHIRIHAA SAALIMAN WAH’-FAZ”NAA MIN SHARRIZ’ ZAALIMEENA BIH’AQQI H’IFZ”AM MIN KULLI SHAYT’AANIM MAARIDIN WA BIH’AQQI SALAAMUN QAWLAM MIR RABBIR RAH’EEMIN WA BIH’AQQI FALLAAHU KHAYRUN H’AAFIZ’AN WA HUWA ARH’AMUR RAAH’IMEEN WA BIH’AQQI MUH’AMMADIN S’ALLALLAAHU A’LAYHI WAL A-IMMATIL MA’-SOOMEENAL MAHDIYEEN

(vi) Recite the following du-a’a thrice on a glass of water, drink some and sprinkle some in the house.

Allah is my Lord. Allah is my Lord. My Lord Allah is one, almighty. My Lord gives life, makes dead, Sufficient is our Lord of us. My Lord, my Lord, my Lord, my Lord, my Lord, my Lord, my Lord. O Allah protect us from famine plague, drowning, burning, death, evil of accidents, hostility of the enemies and the evil deeds recorded in the register. O our Lord keep away chastisement from us through Your mercy O He most merciful, because we are believers, and blessing of Allah be on the best of all that which He has created, who is the symbol of his benevolence, Muhammad and his pious and purified children, and tranquil peace, much and often.

ALLAAHU RABEE ALLAAHU RABBEE RABBIYALLAAHUL WAAH’IDUL QAHHAARU RABBIYYALAAHU YUH’YEE WA YUMEETU H’ASBUNAA RABBUNAA RABBEE RABBEE RABBEE RABBEE RABBEE RABBEE RABBEE ALLAAHUMMAH-FAZ’NAA MIAL QAH’T’I WAT’ T’AA-O’ONI WAL GHARQI WAL H’ARQI WAL MAWTI WA SOO-IL QAZ”-AA-I WA SHIMAATATIL A’-DAA-I WA SHARRI KITAABIN SABAQA RABBANAK-SHIF A’NNAL A’DAABI INNAA MOOQINOONA BIRAH’MATIKA YAA ARH’AMAR RAAH’IMEEN WA S’ALLALLAAHU A’LAA KHAYRI KHALQIHEE WA MAZ’HARI LUT’FIHEE MUH’AMMADIN WA AALIHEE AJMA-E’ENAT’ T’AYYIBEENAT’ T’AAHIREEN WA SALAAMA TASLEEMAN KATHEERAN KATHEERAA

(vii) Recite thrice each of the following :

(a) WA UFAWWIZ”U AMREE ILALLAAH INNALLAAHA BAS’EERUN BIL I’BAAD

Entrust my affair to Allah; verily, Allah keeps an eye on (His) servants.

(b) YA RAH’MAAN O Beneficent

(c ) YAA RAH’EEMU BIRAH’MATIKA YAA ARH’AMUR RAAH’IMEENO Merciful by Your mercy, O the most merciful.

(viii) Recite the following du-a’s 7 times to remain under divine protection throughout the year:

O Allah, You are everlasting, eternal, ever living, generous, compassionate, liberal. This is a new year and Your are the eternal sovereign. I beseech You to protect me from Shaytan and deliver me from the fire and help me to control inordinate lust and occupy myself in that which bring me near to Your presence O Lord of might and power, through Your mercy O the most merciful.

ALLAAHUMMA ANTAL ABADIYYUL QADEEMU WAL H’AYYUL KAREEMUL H’ANNAANUL MANNAAN HAAD’IHEE SANATUN JADEEDATUN WA ANTA MALIKUN QADEEMUN AS-ALUKA FEEHIL I’S’MATA MINASH SHAYT’AANI WAS NAJAATAN MINAN NEERAANI WAL A’WNI A’LAA HAAD’IHIN NAFSIL AMMAARATI BIS SOO-I WAL ISHTIGHAALA BIMAA YAQARRIBUNEE LADAYKA YAA D’AL JALAALI WAL IKRAAMI BIRAH’MATIKA YAA ARH’AMAR RAAHI’MEEN

(ix) keep the following as a ta’-wiz on your body.

There is no power nor strength with any one save Allah. I seek refuge with the Lord of S’uhaa and S’ah’eehah from the scorpion, the thief and the snake.

LAA H’AWLA WA LAA QUWWATA ILLAA BILAAHIL A’LIYYIL A’ZEEM A’-O’OD’U BIRABBI’S S’UHAA WAS’ S’AHEEH’ATI MINAL A’QRABI WAS SAARIQI WAL H’AYYATI

(x) To remain safe from misfortunes, diseases etceteras throughout the year, recite the following surahs:

Bani Israil S’af

Nur Ma-a’rij

H’adid

A’la

H’ashr

If the following du-a’a is recited on water for having a bath on the 1st of Muharram, you will remain save from diseases and ailments throughout the Year.

Glory be to Allah, the supreme balance. Glory be to Allah, the ultimate in gentleness. Glory be to Allah, the goal of devotedness. Glory be to Allah, the splendor of the arsh.
